SRTC is looking for input on a proposed amendment to the 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) that would add one new project to the program and change the details of two others projects.

The TIP is a document of projects to be undertaken or constructed during the upcoming four years. It includes project names and descriptions, the jurisdiction sponsoring them, funding attached to each project, and the funding source (local, state or federal funds). The TIP is amended throughout the year as SRTC’s member jurisdictions have projects to add, change, or remove from the program; often as funding becomes available or projects move toward being construction-ready.

The current amendment includes three Washington State Department of Transportation projects:

  • I-90/Barker to Harvard- Improve Interchanges & Local Roads- New project that will improve the Barker and Harvard road interchanges and connect the local road network north and south at Henry Road. This is the preliminary engineering and right of way phases of the project.
  • US 395/NSC Sprague Ave. to Spokane River- Add preliminary engineering and right-of-way phases, decrease the cost of the construction phase and increase the overall project cost.
  • US 395/NSC Sprague Ave. to Spokane River- Add preliminary and right-of-way phases and increase the cost of the construction phase, along with the total project cost.

Detailed information on the projects proposed for amendment can be found here (scroll down to “TIP Amendments”). More information on the 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program can be found there as well.

A public comment period for the proposed amendment starts Wednesday, May 23. Members of the public are encouraged to provide input. All comments must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018. Comments can be submitted by emailing to contact.srtc@srtc.org, mailing to SRTC at 421 W. Riverside Ave., Suite 500, Spokane, WA, or by calling (509) 343-6370.
