Inland Pacific Hub
The Spokane region has been proactive in studying transportation-related freight assets and developing strategies to raise the competitive profile of the area. This was done both through SRTC’s long-term transportation plan, Horizon 2040 and the Inland Pacific Hub (IPH) project.
IPH is a public-private partnership established by and composed of public and private sector representatives from Idaho and Washington. The goal of the IPH was to examine the feasibility of establishing the Inland Pacific region as a multi-modal global gateway to increase domestic and international commerce. The effort was completed in two phases between 2009 and 2012 and continues as a forum for regional transportation leaders in both the public and private sector to discuss implementation of the recommended strategies. The reports from both phases of the IPH project are below. For Word document version, email contact.srtc@srtc.org or call (509) 343-6370.
