Federal Funding Programs
SRTC receives the following types of federal funding for distribution to member agencies for regional transportation projects:
Carbon Reduction Program (CRP)
The CRP provides funding for road projects designed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ)
The CMAQ program provided federal funding for transportation projects and programs which help to meet requirements of the Clean Air Act.
Coronovirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSSA)
The CRRSSA provides addtional funds towards the Highway Infrastructure Program.
Highway Infrastructure Program (HIP)
The HIP provides funds for roads, bridges, transit capital and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) capital projects for the elimination of hazards and installation of railway-highway crossing protective devices.
Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG)
The STBG is the most flexible of all highway programs and provides the most financial support to local agencies.
Transportation Alternatives (TA)
TA projects and plans are typically projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, multi-use paths, safe routes to school, etc.
