Transportation Vision Project
The Transportation Vision Project completed in 2011 developed a long-term vision and implementation plan for the regional transportation system. The process looked at existing transportation plans and policies; community values; patterns of physical, economic and social development for the region; and the needs of the community.
The Vision Project utilized a series of outreach efforts including public meetings and discussions, an online game and telephone survey to gather input about the public’s vision for the regional transportation system and what it will take to reach the envisioned future.
There were two key products from this project; the Vision and Implementation Strategy document includes recommendations and suggestions to meet the identified vision. Draft recommendations from the study include integrating transportation and land use planning, making investments that position the region for economic growth, and working together as a region to make the identified vision a reality. The Vision Process Summary Report details the public outreach efforts used during the course of the Transportation Vision Project.
