Completed in 2021, the Spokane Regional Truck Freight Profile provides a snapshot of the regional freight trends and topics. These include regional freight movements, freight infrastructure and networks, and freight-related employment and activity centers.
  • Bridging the Valley
Bridging the Valley (BTV) is a 2006 study that proposes separating vehicle traffic from train traffic in the 42-mile corridor between Spokane and Athol, ID. The separation of railroad and roadway grades in this corridor—which includes 75 railroad/roadway crossings—is intended to promote future economic growth, traffic movement, traffic safety, and train whistle noise abatement.
  • Inland Pacific Hub
The Inland Pacific Hub (IPH) examines the feasibility of establishing the Inland Pacific region as a multi-modal global gateway to increase domestic and international commerce. The effort was completed in two phases between 2009 and 2012 and continues as a forum for regional transportation leaders in both the public and private sector to discuss implementation of the recommended strategies.
