Bicycle/Pedestrian Plans & Documents

Bicycling and walking are simple and efficient, affordable, low-impact modes of transportation that don’t contribute to air pollution or traffic congestion. Well-designed, strategically-located walking and biking facilities can also increase public transit ridership by providing better access to bus stops and routes. In addition, bicycle and pedestrian facilities can provide for economic development in downtowns, urban centers and other mixed-use areas.

SRTC is committed to providing increased and safer opportunities to bike or walk. Staff works with communities throughout the region to plan and implement effective non-motorized projects and programs.

For information on Washington State bicycle laws, helmet laws, roadways closed to bicycles, bicycling safety tips, and commuting tips and resources, go to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Bicycle web page.
