How walkable is Spokane? That’s what City of Spokane officials want to know. To get an idea on the public’s opinion, they’re hosting an open house for the Draft Pedestrian Master Plan on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 5-7 p.m. in the Chase Gallery at Spokane City Hall (808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd). Staff will be on hand to tell people what’s being done to make our area more pedestrian-friendly and to answer any questions you may have.
After that, the Spokane City Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment to adopt a Pedestrian Master Plan on Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
You can submit written comments and appear at the public hearing to speak in person about the proposal. To submit written comments, send your feedback to Project Planner Jacqui Halvorson by mail (at the City Hall address above) or email jhalvorson@spokanecity.org. The public comment period runs until the end of the public hearing on this amendment (adjournment of the PC Hearing on Sept. 23).
City staff will also be available at the City Council Chambers on the day of the hearing between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to answer questions regarding the proposed Pedestrian Master Plan.
