Transportation Today News reports that the USDOT is trying to make at-grade rail crossings across the county safer by requiring all states to implement rail crossing action plans. Transportation groups in Washington State have been aware of this problem for quite a while now, and even created a prioritized list of at-grade crossings with the greatest impacts and need for remediation.
