SRTC’s Board of Directors has approved a priority list of transportation projects for the Spokane region and is asking for input from the public on it. The list reflects the values of the region, consistent with the Guiding Principles in the long-range transportation plan, Horizon 2040.
Development of the list started in March when jurisdictions were asked to apply for funds for needed transportation projects. While 49 applications were received totaling over $98 million in requests, only about $26 million in funds from federal programs is available at this time to program for those projects over the next four years.
A 30-day public comment period will provide an opportunity to review and share thoughts on the list of priority projects. Public comments, criteria of the funding programs, geography of those funding programs, and project timing will all be considered in developing a strategy to fund the projects.
To share your thoughts on the list, email email@example.com, call (509) 343-6370 or mail comments to SRTC at 421 W. Riverside, Suite 500, Spokane, WA 99201. All comments must be received by September 9, 2018.
