Would prefer to avoid getting hit by a car if possible? Join the club. Well there are some states you may want to avoid living in then. Newser has a list of the top 10 deadliest states for pedestrians.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration examined traffic accident data to see which states had the highest pedestrian death rates in 2014. New Mexico was deemed the most dangerous for pedestrians, with 3.55 deaths per 100,000 residents. Minnesota came in at the other end of the scale with just 0.27 deaths per 100,000. As you would expect, most of the fatalities happened in urban areas where there are an increased number of walkers.
Here are the results. And good news, no states from the northwest.
