The Board of Directors of the Spokane Regional Transportation Council (SRTC) is pleased to announce the selection of Lois Bollenback as the new Executive Director of the region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization. The Board approved hiring Ms. Bollenback at their July 8 meeting. Ms. Bollenback comes to the Spokane area from the River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization in Daytona Beach, FL, where she served as Executive Director since 2012. The SRTC Board Chair, Mayor Ben Wick of City of Spokane Valley, stated “The Board is excited to begin working with Lois and we are confident that under her leadership SRTC will be well-positioned to continue developing effective transportation plans and programs that serve the Spokane region. Please join me in welcoming Lois to the organization”. Ms. Bollenback is scheduled to begin work at SRTC on August 16.
On July 8 the Board also approved the creation of a Deputy Executive Director position. This position has been filled by SRTC staff member Eve McMenamy, who has been a transportation planner with the agency for 26 years. Mayor Wick said, “Eve’s wealth of experience at SRTC will be incredibly helpful during the leadership transition period and provides a solid foundation for the organization into the future”.
