The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently studying how to address increasing traffic resulting from land use development in and around US 2 (from the old Sunset Highway connection to the Fairchild Air Force Base). The study is called the “West Plains Subarea Transportation Management Plan (Phase 1, US 2 Vicinity). We are working with local partners: Spokane Regional Transportation Council, City of Airway Heights, City of Spokane, Spokane County, Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane International Airport, Kalispel Tribe, Spokane Tribe, Spokane Transit Authority, Airport Public Development Authority, West Plains Chamber of Commerce and others to identify “practical solutions” that are the right solutions to address specific issues at the right time. Please participate in the study by visiting www.connectwestplains.com and providing input by completing the following online surveys, which are also available on the web site listed above.

WSDOT would like to hear from you to ensure that your concerns and ideas are considered in the study!

If you have any questions please contact Bonnie Gow at 509.324.6198 or GowBL@wsdot.wa.gov
