We’ve recently finished an update to the Congestion Management Process for Spokane County. At the right time too, as congestion in our state has been in the news a lot, due to the release of two studies that say greater transportation spending would provide a big economic spur for our state. The catch? Most of the money recommended to be spent on transportation projects by both these studies would go to the west side of the state.
Kind of makes sense, considering the Spokane area has very little actual traffic congestion. And an editorial in the Spokesman-Review today says, even if the east side doesn’t get any love, spending money on the west side will benefit the entire state. Here’s why.
