The U.S. Senate approved a $10.9 billion bill to fund highway projects through May 2015 late last night, just hours before the U.S. Department of Transportation was supposed to start rationing money in the Highway Trust Fund today.

The bill now heads to President Obama to be signed. While his administration said it would have preferred a $302 billion four-year extension of highway funding, it’s commonly believed that he will sign it.

The Hill has more information on the bill.
