The Washington State Transportation Commission yesterday agreed to name a portion of U.S. Highway 27 after Sam Strahan, the 15-year-old Freeman High School student who was killed while confronting a school shooter.
Seven-thousand, five hundred people signed a petition to support the naming. The commission voted unanimously to name the stretch from mile marker 68.9 to mile marker 82 as the Sam Strahan Memorial Highway.
Strahan’s mother, Ami Strahan, said Sam would be thrilled.
