Public testimony at a listening session on transportation issues last night before state legislators offered contrasting views on how to fund and build Washington’s transportation system on limited funds and dropping gas tax revenues.

While some called for a transportation funding package funded by higher taxes, others said don’t raise the gas tax, but do a better job of spending the money already collected.

About 300 people attended and 100 testified, including Shawn Dobbs of the Inland Northwest Lighthouse, who is also a member of our Transportation Advisory Committe.
Here’s the Spokesman-Review’s writeup of last night’s events.
