All lanes of westbound Interstate 90 in Western Washington were blocked for several hours this morning after a mudslide trapped 13 cars on the freeway near milepost 19 east of Issaquah.
According to the Spokesman-Review, the mudslide happened at about 4:40 a.m., when as much as a foot of mud and debris slid onto the roadway, most likely due to heavy rain.
There were no injuries and crews cleared the roadway enough to get one lane of traffic moving again by 7:30 this morning.
Eastbound lanes were not affected.
