US 2/Spokane Sidewalk Work- Be alert for lane restrictions on Division and Browne between Sprague Avenue and Third Avenue.
US 2-Division Street/Pavement Patching- Monday through Wednesday, May 22-24, from about 8 a.m. until as late as 4 p.m., southbound Division may be reduced to 2 lanes (from 4).
US 2/Pavement Patching- Today, Thursday, May 18, until as late as 4 p.m., drivers should be alert for paving crews with lane restrictions.
I-90/Division Street to Altamont Street- Repair bridge joints and bridge approach concrete slabs. Eastbound I-90 will be reduced to two lanes 24/7. Eastbound drivers should expect slow traffic and should seek alternate routes. Also, the eastbound Altamont off-ramp will be closed 24/7.
SR 290-Trent Ave/Mission Ave. to Evergreen Rd.-Sidewalks- Sidewalk ADA work requires shoulder closures, possible lane closures during working hours, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and pedestrian detours with temporary ramps beginning Monday, May 22.
SR 291/Suncrest to SR 231- Pavement repair and pre-level paving in preparation for upcoming chip-seal. Be alert for flaggers and or pilot cars directing single-lane, alternating traffic with some delays.
NSC-US 395/Freya Structures- Construct two mainline freeway bridges over Freya Street. Be alert for occasional traffic control at the Freya roundabouts.
NSC-US 395/Spokane River to Francis- Work includes curb & sidewalk work on city streets that are immediately adjacent to the NSC right of way. Drainage work is also included. Market Street may be reduced to one northbound land between Columbia Ave. and Francis Ave. on weekdays from 7 a.m. until as late at 5 p.m.
SR 904/Cheney Sidewalks- Upgrade intersection crosswalk ADA pedestrian ramps. Sidewalk work wrapping up.
SPOKANE CITY
Lilac Parade Saturday, May 20- Street closures include;
– Howard and Mallon in front of the Flour Mill at Boone will close at 2 p.m.
– Barricades at both Dean and Cataldo on both sides of Washington will be up at 2 p.m.
– Barricades on Boone at Kalispell, Normandie and Atlantic will go up at 2 p.m.
– Barricades at the east end of Cataldo at Atlantic will go up at 2 p.m.
– Barricades at Division and North River Drive will go up at 2 p.m.
– Washington at Boone will close to southbound traffic at 4 p.m.
– Washington at 2nd Avenue will close northbound at 4 p.m.
– Downtown streets will close starting at 4 p.m.
– 1st Avenue, Sprague, Riverside and Main between Lincoln and Bernard
– Post Street, Wall, Howard, Stevens and Washington between Spokane Falls and 2nd Avenue.
37th Avenue, Regal to Custer– 37th Avenue is closed between Freya Street and Ray Street; both the intersections remain open. This work is to reconstruct the road, include pavement replacement, curbs, sidewalk, bike lanes, stormwater piping, and a 36 inch water main.
Adams Street Combined Sewer Overflow 24 Project- This project will construct a 2.4 million gallon Combined Sewer Overflow Tank (CSO) tank. Adams Street between 1st and Sprague Avenue is reduced to one lane on the east side of the road. 1st Avenue is reduced to one lane eastbound in the furthest south lane. Sprague Avenue is reduced to one lane westbound in the furthest north lane. Westbound Riverside Avenue is closed and detoured to Sprague Avenue at Jefferson Street. Eastbound Riverside is also closed from Cedar to Jefferson Street.
Bridge Avenue and Monroe Street CSO Work- This project will construct a Combined Sewer Overflow Tank (CSO) tank. Lincoln has one northbound lane open. Lincoln southbound is closed at Broadway. Summit Blvd/Bridge Avenue is closed to traffic.
Division Street Gateway Project, 3rd Avenue to Spokane Falls Boulevard- Lane closures along the east curb lines from 3rd to 1st Avenue on both Division and Browne Street. The two north bound east side lanes of Division will be restricted from just north of 2nd Avenue to the north side of Pacific Avenue. This project includes electrical conduit replacement, stormwater updates, asphalt patching, curb and sidewalk replacement and landscaping.
Liberty Park, Combined Sewer Overflow Tank 33-1- Work continues with traffic impacts on 5th Ave. from Arthur to Perry and Denver and Celesta. This work is to construct a 2 million gallon Combined Sewer Overflow Tank that is part of the “It’s all about the River” program to keep our greatest asset, our river, clean.
Monroe and Lincoln Street, Main Avenue to 2nd Avenue- During the week of May 22-28 crews are planning on repairing an irrigation line. This work is dependent on dry weather, so the dates are subject to change. Crews will be working on the west side of Monroe Street just south of Riverside Avenue with occasional Monroe west lane closures. Top lift paving is scheduled for mid-summer. Avista is working on the east lane of Lincoln Street from 2nd Avenue to Sprague Avenue at approximately 15 separate locations.
This is a full depth roadway replacement and full depth replacement between curbs on Lincoln Street and Monroe Street; Main Avenue from Monroe Street to Lincoln Street; and Monroe Street from Spokane Falls Boulevard to Main Avenue. Some minor curbing and ADA curb ramps will be installed where necessary.
Spokane Falls Boulevard Combined Sewer Overflow Tank (CSO 26) Project- Spokane Falls Boulevard from Lincoln to Monroe is closed. Lincoln Street from Spokane Falls Boulevard to Main is open with traffic redirected southbound. Lincoln will serve as the detour route for traffic coming from the River Park Square garage and Spokane Falls Boulevard. Lincoln has two lanes of traffic, and drivers will be required to go east or west at Main Avenue. The project is part of the City’s efforts to get to a Cleaner River Faster. The tank will include a new public plaza with views of the lower falls of the Spokane River.
Sprague Avenue, Helena Street to Stone Street- Work on Phase I of this project, Sprague Avenue between Altamont to Napa, is expected to complete in mid-July. In an effort, to accelerate the completion of this project Phase II of construction will begin Monday, May 22 instead of late June. Phase II of this project spans Sprague Avenue just west of Napa to just west of Helena. Starting Monday, May 22 the street closure will expand to close Sprague Avenue from Altamont Street to just west of Helena. Work for this project includes a full street reconstruction, partial sidewalk replacement, bumpouts, landscaping, pedestrian lighting, and utility replacement.
Maple Street Bridge- Tuesday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. crews will be cleaning the southbound travel lane and sidewalk on the Maple Street Bridge to 2nd Avenue.
Street Maintenance Grind and Overlay Work- Phase 3 of the project: Grind & Inlay Paving of Thor/Freya from Sprague to 2nd Avenue southbound started Monday, May 19. Lane restrictions are in place 140 feet North of Sprague on Freya shifting traffic to one lane until 1st Ave (at which point the road widens to 3 lanes (2 usable by traffic). During peak hours grind/inlay work zone will be held to East Pacific Ave (to facilitate the flow of traffic coming off of I90 and to facilitate right hand turns onto 2nd Ave for access to I90. East bound Sprague Ave will experience temporary lane closures to support grinding and paving operations. Grinding will start in the right curb lane, southbound. Left curb lane will be the next. Followed by inlay paving of the two curb lanes. Once complete, the center lane will be milled and then paved.
Upriver Drive Combined Sewer Overflow Tank, CSO 41- Upriver Drive is closed from west of Freya to east of Rebecca. Rebecca will be closed to from Upriver Drive to south of Ermina for work on the CSO Tank. A detour is in place for the Centennial Trail.
SPOKANE VALLEY
Buckeye Ave. Between McMillan and the City Limits- Full road closure from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the end of May for this road/sewer project.
Euclid Ave. between Flora Rd. and Barker Rd.- Road/sewer project. Full road closure between Flora Rd. and Tschirley Rd. 24 hours a day until early July.
Flora Rd. between Euclid Ave. (west) and Dalton Ave. Road/sewer project. Alternating one way traffic controlled by flaggers between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily May 22 through May 24.
Indiana Ave. between Mirabeau Parkway and Evergreen Rd.- Road project. Starts May 22 and goes through September. Traffic reduced to one lane each way 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Mirabeau Parkway between Mansfield Ave. and Indiana Ave.- Road project. Road closed around the clock through early June. Signed detour directs traffic to Pines Rd via Mansfield Avenue or Indiana Avenue.

Market St. from Houston Ave. to Lincoln Rd.- Lane Closed (Both Directions, All Lanes), Expect delays
Monroe Street Swales (Country Homes Blvd-Cedar & Excel)- Repair and repave asphalt and install curb, sidewalk, catch basins, drywells, sewer pipe. Project starting on Monroe at Wall working in the shoulders. Some delays when entering the roadway.
Country Homes Blvd. from Cedar Rd. to Excell Dr.- Lane Closed (Both Directions, Shoulder): Shoulder closed, Flaggers may be present when a lane closure is needed, expect delays.
