Need to renew your drivers license or have other business with the Spokane Driver Licensing Office? Plan some extra time to take care of it. The Spokesman-Review says that almost every morning in recent weeks, there has been a line at the office before it opens so long that it stretches to the back of the building.
The state DOL recently made changes to its operating system that resulted in longer wait times for those using the department’s driver licensing services. The updates are to provide better security and prevent fraud.
Summer is also usually the busiest time of year for the DOL. New teenage drivers and people moving need licenses, plus staff members take vacations, meaning there are less people to serve customers. Officials recommend checking to see if you can get what you need done online rather than waiting in line in person.
