The Winter Olympics are coming to South Korea next year and electronics company LG is getting ready- with robots. LG has placed two robots in the country’s largest airport; the Airport Guide Robot and the Airport Cleaning Robot.
According to The Verge, the Guide Robot will roam the terminals, providing travelers with directions and information about boarding times. It speaks four languages — Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese — and can scan boarding passes to be escorted to the correct departure gate.
The Cleaning Robot is pretty much a beefed-up Roomba that detects the areas that require the most frequent cleaning, stores those locations in its database and calculates the most efficient routes to get there.
