Our office is in the Spokane Intermodal Center (the Greyhound and Amtrak station) so we see a little of everything come through. On Monday, the boss man took this picture of 737s being shipped through the area via train. It was quite a sight, an entire train filled with plane bodies.
I've lived along the railroad downtown and on the western edge of the lower south hill for over 3 years now. It's faciniting to watch the world economy go by on my doorstep. I always try to snap a picture of the planes when they go by. In fact, I happened to take some pictures of that exact train the other day. Looks like you got some good shots, too!
Train watching is one of our favorite breaktime activities around here. We have to get our GIS guy Kevin out of his cave to see it everytime one of the coal trains goes by. For some reason he's facinated by them. What's weird to me is that they don't cover the coal. It's just heaped in the cars and open to the weather. Some of our other favorites: the vintage passenger train with the big bubble windows, the windmill 'arms' and military equipment such as tanks and hummers being moved via train.
