The Washington State Department of Transportation is
analyzing possible alignments in the vicinity of Wellesley Avenue

formal presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a question and answer session with

I was at a meeting on October 4 and got their new alignment, and it is much better as it goes around the "Black Tank" area, removes one roundabout, but puts the freeway very close to Market which means all that land cannot be developed. They were still working on the on and off ramps at Wellesley. So some good and bad points. They also changed their connection to I90, but that is 12 years away or more so it will probably change several times before then.
Another major change- the freeway will be elevated in the "black tank" area.
It's too bad about being so close to Market but the options were pretty limited.
No all ground level except the overpass at Wellesley and another one at Euclid. The elevated over black tank is gone.
Hmmmm…. at last week's Board meeting Mike Gribner said part of it is elevated. I'll check on that to make sure we're getting the most up-to-date info.
