Transit Planning
Transit planning refers to transportation planning that is focused on developing, maintaining, and operating public transport systems such as the bus network. Regional planning agencies all around the country work with public transportation providers to engage in coordinated transit planning. The public transportation provider for the greater Spokane Region is the Spokane Transit Authority. Spokane Transit operates fixed route bus service, paratransit, and vanpool services.

Human Services Transportation Plan
The Spokane County Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan (CPT-HSTP) is developed as a cooperative effort between SRTC and the Spokane Transit Authority (STA). This plan is updated on a four-year cycle as a required element for federal and state funding programs. The plan demonstrates that appropriate coordination has occurred to develop regional projects and programs that enhance transportation access, minimize duplication of services, and implement the most cost-effective transportation services with available resources.
The current Human Services Transportation Plan was adopted by the SRTC Board of Directors on November 10, 2022. The plan is set to be updated in 2026. Stay tuned for updates!
