Regional Safety Action Plan
The SRTC Board of Directors has continually identified safety as a top priority for our region. SRTC developed the Regional Safety Action Plan, or RSAP, to address safety trends heading in the wrong direction. The RSAP analyzed fatal and serious injury crash data from 2018 to 2023 to identify safety issues and possible solutions to reach zero fatalities on our roadways. Public feedback was also considered and found to align with what the data indicated. Local jurisdictions are now enabled to start implementing safety projects, initiatives and policies in a regional effort to make our region’s streets safe for everyone.
In February 2023, SRTC received a $400,000 grant from the United States Department of Transportation, the Safe Street and Roads for All program, which provides the necessary resources to develop the RSAP. Learn more here.
The RSAP was adopted by the SRTC Board of Directors on September 12, 2024.
