Horizon 2040 is our long-range plan that is currently available for public review and comment. Every four years we update this plan with new analysis of areas that need improvements in our transportation system, new strategies to guide how those improvements are made, an updated financial plan that shows how we will pay for improvements and a list of projects and programs to be built or implemented over the timeframe of the plan, 20+ years.
It is that project list that interests a lot of people who are curious about what our transportation system will look like over the next couple decades. If that’s you, then this map will give you an idea of how some of the larger-scale projects will be spread out around Spokane County and what they are. It’s interactive also, so scroll to the area where you live or work, or your commute route, zoom in and click on the lines that denote a project to get the details.
