I swear, this could easily be me. According to MSN, a German man reported his car stolen to police in Frankfurt in 1997. But it turns out it hadn’t been stolen, he just couldn’t remember where he parked it so thought it was taken. Twenty years later, the car has been found in a garage in an old industrial building that is due to be demolished. A the former owner probably said something along the lines of, “Oh yeah! THAT’S where I left it!”
Unfortunately the car was no longer functional and had to be scrapped. The good news, he wasn’t charged for overdue parking fines.
