The City of Spokane is asking for feedback on several design options for Riverside Avenue in downtown Spokane. Riverside between Monroe Street and Division Street will be rebuilt over the next few years, beginning as early as 2019.
After reviewing a presentation on the Riverside design options, citizens can take a new online survey to give their input. The presentation and survey are available on the City’s web site; responses are requested by Friday, July 27.
The options center around how to design bike facilities on the street, parking options, and different street treatments in a “focus zone” portion of the project. This feedback will be incorporated into the final design.
Design of the project will begin this winter with the initial phase of construction starting as soon as 2019. Earlier feedback on the project determined that the street should include three travel lanes, the addition of bike lanes, curbside parking, and curbside transit stops.
