SRTC’s final Education Series event of the year is coming up so mark your calendar. Gov. Parris Glendening is former Governor of Maryland and President of the Smart Growth America Leadership Institute.
He advises state and local governments on smart growth (an approach to development that encourages a mix of building types and uses, diverse housing and transportation options, development within existing neighborhoods, and community engagement), transit, and sustainability policies and practices.
Glendening will speak on creating communities that offer choices in transportation, housing and employment on Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bookie, WSU Spokane, 410 E. Spokane Falls Boulevard.
This event is free and open to the public.
