For the third consecutive year, the number of deer-vehicle collisions in the U.S. has dropped- except in Idaho.
State Farm® Insurance estimates 1.09 million collisions between deer and vehicles occurred in the U.S. between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. That’s 9 percent less than three years ago and 7 percent fewer than one year ago. Here are more details from the Idaho State Journal.
I thought all the deer were in my garden eating beans, but I was close to hitting one a few weeks ago as he sauntered across the county road in front of me. I honked my horn and he started to run away.
At least your deer vacate when you honk at them. The ones in my neighborhood have major entitlement issues and just ignore me when I yell at them for eating my flowers. The elk herd is back in the Stateline area so be careful driving out there, heard someone hit one of them earlier this week.
