The northern Italian city of Bologna is trying something innovative in the hopes of cutting down some of the traffic clogging its streets- free beer.

According to Ten Daily, a new app collects “mobility points” every time someone records a trip when they cycle, walk or use public transportation. These points can be traded in for beer, gelato, or movie tickets. The point system is based not on the distance traveled but on a single trip, because it’s important that even short trips are eliminated. And just eight short (or long) journeys will score your a glass of beer. But if you are thinking you can game the system for maximum beer consumption, the app is set up to only register a maximum of four journeys per day.

According to the BBC, the app has recorded 3.7 million kilometres (almost 12 million miles) of sustainable trips in the last year.
