I sit on a ‘Complete Streets Education Coalition’ group that is working with the City of Spokane toward passing a complete streets policy. Earlier this summer, I got together with a couple complete streets advocates and a photographer from City Cable 5 to shoot this video. It’s now airing on Channel 5. Take a look and let me know if you have any more questions about complete streets after watching it.

I found the video informative, but I'd already heard of the concept, so I might not be the target audience.
I'm mildly in favor of complete streets in Spokane, but I can usually find a decent route to my in-city destination (on my bike) anyway.
Where I'd really like to see improvement is in more rural areas of Spokane County – just a 3 foot wide shoulder on those county roads could make them a lot more comfortable.

Thanks for the comment Ventura. We have an older gentleman that attends all our Board, Transportation Technical Committee, and Transportation Advisory Committee meetings and he is constantly advocating for rural roads. So we know the need is out there. The good news is that complete streets also covers rural roads, although there aren't a lot of rural roads in the City.
