Between Nogales and Tucson is a 60-mile stretch of lonely highway that appears to be left over from the Carter administration when a campaign was underway to get Americans to adopt the metric system since most of the rest of the world was using it.

The Arizona Department of Transportation wants to replace the outdated signs but a surprising contingent opposes the plan- area business owners. AZ Central has the story on why the idea is unpopular with many.
