What is Title VI?

As an agency that receives Federal funding, it is SRTC’s responsibility to take substantial steps toward ensuring there is no discrimination in our programs and activities. Title VI is a federal law that protects people from discrimination based on race, color or national origin by agencies and programs that receive Federal dollars.

If you feel that SRTC has discriminated against you because of your race, color, national origin, income or disability please fill out the Title VI Complaint form and return it to SRTC within 180 calendar days of the alleged discrimination. Complaints can be sent via in-person, mail or email to contact.srtc@srtc.org

If the complaint is accepted for investigation, submitters will be notified in writing within five calendar days. For more information, read SRTC’s Title VI Complaint Procedures.

What is the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)?

Disabled individuals have the right to submit a complaint if they feel they have been discriminated against and/or excluded from SRTC’s programs, services and activities. People can fill out an ADA complaint form and return it to SRTC within 180 calendar days of the alleged discrimination. Complaints can be sent via in-person, mail or email to contact.srtc@srtc.org.

Within 10 days of a submission, SRTC will respond in writing acknowledging that it has received the complaint and if the case will stay within SRTC’s jurisdiction or move to another agency’s (Washington State Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, etc.).
