PROPOSED STIMULUS PACKAGE PROJECTS

Working with area jurisdictions, SRTC has identified 8 projects for the first round of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA or Stimulus) funding. Click here for the list.

Washington State will receive $492 million in federal transportation money from the ARRA plan and Spokane Regional Transportation Council is responsible for allocating $10.4 million of that money to local government agencies for transportation projects in Spokane County.

On February 25, SRTC held a special meeting of the Transportation Technical Committee to discuss and recommend specific transportation projects for funding.

Projects under consideration needed to be regionally significant, geographically distributed among the regions of Spokane County, and ready to go out to advertisement within 120 days of the state receiving the stimulus money on March 3.

Construction on most of the projects will begin late in 2009 or early 2010.   Projects must be completed within three years.
